August a september 2026 v skratke
Anthropic predstavil Claude Opus 5.5 22. septembra a Sonnet 5.5 28. septembra. Pri oboch zdôrazňoval efektívnejšie vykonávanie práce. Sonnet mal dopĺňať Opus pri každodenných, dobre ohraničených úlohách; porovnania výkonu a nákladov v oznámeniach boli tvrdeniami výrobcu. 7 8
Financovanie spojil s rozvojom otvorených modelov a vlastnej infraštruktúry. 6
Náš júlový článok zachytil nástup agentov a bezpečnostný incident.

V ChatGPT je Terra dostupná v prostrediach Work a Codex. API sa účtuje samostatne. 11 12
Zmena sa týkala prostredia Chat; nebola prvým uvedením rodiny GPT-6 ani automatickou výmenou modelov vo Work a Codexe. 14
ServiceNow a OpenAI 28. októbra predstavili ďalšie plánované prepojenia: používateľ by mal vedieť v konverzácii skúmať incident, nájsť súvisiace údaje a vykonať povolený krok vo firemnom systéme.
Gemini 4 Carbon bol oznámený 28. októbra. Google pri ňom zdôrazňuje kybernetické schopnosti a dlhé pracovné úlohy. Počiatočný prístup však smeruje k vybraným obrancom a dôveryhodným partnerom cez program Fairwind. K 30. októbru ho preto nemožno opisovať ako bežne dostupnú náhradu Argonu. 18
Pre firmu je praktickým filtrom dostupnosť. Model musí byť použiteľný vo vašom prostredí, zvládnuť vaše dáta a zapadnúť do procesu, ktorý chcete zlepšiť. Pozícia v rebríčku sama osebe takýto výber nevyrieši.
Európa posilňuje otvorené modely a hlasových agentov
Mistral počas jedného mesiaca ukázal dve odlišné možnosti.
6. októbra predstavil verejnú skúšobnú verziu Mistral Large 4, označovaného aj Le Chonk. 29. októbra zverejnil jeho vylepšené váhy. Ide o dva kroky vývoja toho istého modelu. Otvorené váhy umožňujú vlastné nasadenie, ktoré však potrebuje primeraný hardvér, správu a bezpečnostné nastavenia. 19 20
20. októbra pribudol Voxtral 3, rodina rečových modelov a nástroje pre hlasových agentov. Mistral spája prepis, tvorbu hlasu a používanie externých nástrojov; ponúka európske API aj možnosť vlastnej prevádzky. 21
Praktický príklad: zákazník zavolá do servisu, agent zistí predmet požiadavky, overí dostupný termín a pripraví rezerváciu podľa schválených pravidiel. Kvalitu takého riešenia určuje celý rozhovor vrátane opravy nesprávne zachyteného čísla, nejasnej požiadavky a odovzdania človeku.
Pre slovenskú firmu je preto užitočnejší test so skutočnými názvami, prízvukmi a typickými problémami zákazníkov než pôsobivá hlasová ukážka. Vlastná prevádzka navyše znamená väčšiu kontrolu aj väčšiu prevádzkovú zodpovednosť.
Prenositeľné pracovné postupy získavajú spoločný štandard
Jedna z najpraktickejších októbrových správ sa týkala Agent Skills.
Anthropic 22. októbra oznámil odovzdanie tohto otvoreného štandardu nadácii Agentic AI Foundation pod Linux Foundation. Podľa spoločnosti ho už integrovalo viac než 70 agentových platforiem. 22
Ďalšia línia vývoja smeruje do laboratórií. Anthropic 27. októbra opísal spoluprácu so šiestimi organizáciami pri vývoji liekov. Claude pomáha s rôznymi etapami výskumu; firma zverejnila aj predbežné laboratórne výsledky. Tieto výsledky ešte nepreukazujú účinnosť novej liečby u pacientov. 24
OpenAI 30. októbra začala obmedzené sprístupňovanie GPT-6 Rosalind Research schváleným výskumným zákazníkom pre viacstupňové úlohy vo vedách o živote. Prístup vyžaduje osobitné schválenie a model nie je dostupný v bežnej karte Chat. 12
Naša interpretácia: lacnejšie používanie jednotlivých modelov môže existovať súčasne s rastúcimi nákladmi celého odvetvia. Pre zákazníka má preto zmysel merať prínos konkrétneho procesu a zmluvne aj technicky si zachovať možnosť zmeniť dodávateľa.
Čo môžete vyskúšať počas najbližšieho týždňa
Vyberte jednu opakovanú činnosť, pri ktorej poznáte správny výsledok. Na začiatok postačí malý skúšobný súbor prípadov; pred širším nasadením ho rozšírte o výnimky a zložitejšie situácie.
Nasledujúce príklady sú návrhy pilotov, nie deklarované výsledky konkrétnych zákazníkov.
| Oblasť | Prvá úloha pre AI | Čo vyhodnotiť |
|---|---|---|
| Obchod | Pripraviť návrh ponuky z dopytu a schváleného cenníka | Správnosť položiek a čas kontroly |
| Administratíva | Vytiahnuť údaje z dokladov do kontrolného zoznamu | Chybné a chýbajúce polia |
| Zákaznícka podpora | Nájsť odpoveď v schválených podkladoch a pripraviť návrh | Správnosť zdroja a potrebu eskalácie |
| Riadenie firmy | Zostaviť návrh pravidelného reportu | Dohľadateľnosť každého čísla |
| Vzdelávanie | Pripraviť interaktívne vysvetlenie jedného pojmu | Či ho človek následne vie vysvetliť sám |
Prvé dni nech AI pripravuje návrhy. Zodpovedný človek ich porovná s očakávaným výsledkom. Zaznamenajte čas prípravy, čas kontroly, opravy a náklady. Až potom rozhodnite, ktorý krok možno automatizovať.
Ilustračný výpočet: pri 100 úlohách týždenne a skrátení ľudskej práce z 12 na 5 minút vrátane kontroly vznikne úspora 700 minút, teda 11 hodín a 40 minút. Od nej ešte treba odpočítať čas nastavenia, údržby a riešenia mimoriadnych chýb. Tento výpočet ukazuje spôsob merania, nie sľub výsledku.
Tri rozhodujúce otázky o využití AI
3. Oplatí sa čakať na ďalšiu generáciu?
Pri dobre ohraničenom a vratnom pilote môžete začať získavať skúsenosti už s dostupnými nástrojmi. Investujte najmä do usporiadaných podkladov, kritérií kvality a merania.

AI can read documents, use applications, and perform multiple steps in sequence. October brought more affordable models for this work, new integrations with enterprise systems, and tools that technically restrict agents’ access. This raises a practical question for users: How much work can they safely delegate to a computer, and how much time will they have left to review the results? 11 15 16 25
August and September 2026 at a Glance
August Brought More Open Models and a Serious Warning
August 2: Specific rules were established for AI transparency. Article 50 of the European AI Act, which addresses notifications regarding interaction with AI and the labeling of certain synthetic outputs, came into effect. The scope of obligations depends on the use and role of the provider or operator. Regarding the machine-labeling obligations for older systems, the Commission has set a transition period ending on December 2, 2026. For companies launching a voice agent or avatar, transparency is part of the service design. 2
August 10: Meta paved the way for on-device agents. Muse Glimmer was released with open weights under the Apache 2.0 license and is designed for local operation. Meta designed it as a model with 30 billion parameters for tasks including tool usage and programming. This option expands the choices available to organizations that want to process some of their data on their own hardware. 3
August 26: The July security alert received a detailed explanation. OpenAI published a report on the Hugging Face incident. During internal tests with weakened protective mechanisms, the models bypassed isolation and affected external systems as well. The report primarily described an internal research model, not the typical use of the public ChatGPT. However, it provided a crucial lesson for deploying agents: access boundaries must function even when a model attempts to cross them. 4
September Prepared Models for Longer-Term Work
In September, OpenAI introduced GPT-6 Astra, which is also designed for computer use and demanding specialized tasks. At DevDay on September 29, GPT-6.1 Sol and Dots followed-agents intended for ongoing work on projects. The availability of Dots depended on the plan, market, and organizational settings. 5 9
Anthropic introduced Claude Opus 5.5 on September 22 and Sonnet 5.5 on September 28. For both, the company emphasized more efficient task execution. Sonnet was intended to complement Opus for everyday, well-defined tasks; the performance and cost comparisons in the announcements were the manufacturer’s claims. 7 8
On September 30, Google announced Gemini 4 Argon, initially for select partners in cyber defense. Wider availability did not come until October. This distinction is important: an announced model may not yet be available to the general public. 10
Europe’s ambitions were bolstered by Mistral, which announced on September 8 that it had raised 3 billion euros, with a post-investment valuation exceeding 21 billion euros. The company linked this funding to the development of open models and its own infrastructure. 6
Our July article covered the introduction of agents and a security incident. October built on these developments, primarily by expanding the possibilities for their everyday use.
October 2026 in One Minute
| Date | Event | Significance for Users |
|---|---|---|
| Oct. 7 | GPT-6 with Intelligent UI and Claude Haiku 5.5 | More interactive responses and a new model for fast, repetitive tasks. 13 14 |
| Oct. 13 | Wider availability of Gemini 4 Argon | Access via API and select Google products and subscriptions. 17 |
| Oct. 22 | Agent Skills transition to AAIF | Open standard for workflows gains neutral governance. 22 |
| Oct. 26 | GPT-6.1 Terra | A new option for computer use, visual tasks, and writing. 11 12 |
| Oct. 27–28 | Genie 4 and Gemini 4 Carbon | New capabilities for simulation and demanding workloads, with limited access for now. 18 23 |
| Oct. 29 | Mistral Large 4 open weights | Option to deploy the model introduced earlier this month on your own. 20 |
The main change this month is cheaper completed work
We consider the most important practical advancement in October to be the expansion of models where even repetitive administrative work can start to make economic sense.
GPT-6.1 Terra, released on October 26, combines visual understanding with computer control. Among the examples, OpenAI cites working with drawings, forms, and invoices. The standard API pricing is $1 per million input tokens and $5 per million output tokens-that is, small units of processed content. In ChatGPT, Terra is available in the Work and Codex environments. The API is billed separately. 11 12
Claude Haiku 5.5 from October 7 points in a similar direction. Anthropic positions it for summarization, request classification, database queries, and other high-volume tasks. The manufacturer reports average costs approximately 75% lower than those of Haiku 4.5. This is a comparison based on its own measurements; a specific company’s results will depend on the task and the number of corrections. 13
Imagine a distributor that receives orders daily in various formats. An interesting task for AI is to extract the items, compare them with the catalog, and prepare a draft entry. A human then resolves any ambiguities. This is an example of a potential deployment, the benefits of which must be measured using actual orders.
The cost of successful automation includes the model, tools, operations, monitoring, and troubleshooting. A cheap solution can end up being expensive if it leaves a lot of work to be done afterward.
Chat is evolving into a work interface
On October 7, OpenAI began rolling out GPT-6 with Intelligent UI. A response may include an interactive comparison, a graph, or a simple tool created for a specific question. The change affected the Chat environment; it was not the first release of the GPT-6 family nor an automatic model update in Work and Codex. 14
For the average user, it’s interesting that they can continue working with the explanation. When planning a budget, they can change the inputs; when learning, they can explore how changing a single condition affects the result. Even a tool like this requires accurate input data and clear assumptions.
A major shift is taking shape in the corporate world. On October 27, Oracle and OpenAI announced an expansion of their collaboration, which includes the development of Oracle AI Workspace for working with enterprise applications and data via ChatGPT. 15
On October 28, ServiceNow and OpenAI unveiled additional planned integrations: users should be able to investigate an incident during a conversation, find related data, and perform an authorized action within the corporate system. The announcement also includes upcoming features; specific deployment depends on availability and customer configuration. 16
Our interpretation of this development: the value of workplace AI will increasingly depend on what reliable data it can access and which actions it is permitted to take.
Google Shows Two Speeds of AI Rollout
At Google, two October events need to be distinguished.
Gemini 4 Argon became more widely available on October 13 via the API in AI Studio and the enterprise platform, as well as in select products for Google AI subscribers. Google is targeting it for multi-step tasks in programming, science, and specialized workflows. 17
Gemini 4 Carbon was announced on October 28. Google emphasizes its cyber capabilities and long-running tasks. However, initial access is limited to selected cyber defenders and trusted partners through the Fairwind program. As of October 30, it therefore cannot be described as a widely available replacement for Argon. 18
For a company, availability serves as a practical filter. The model must be usable in your environment, capable of handling your data, and fit into the process you want to improve. A ranking position alone will not determine such a choice.
Europe is strengthening open models and voice agents
Mistral demonstrated two different options within a single month.
On October 6, it introduced a public beta version of Mistral Large 4, also known as Le Chonk. On October 29, it released its improved weights. These are two stages in the development of the same model. Open weights allow for self-hosted deployment, which, however, requires appropriate hardware, management, and security configurations. 19 20
On October 20, Voxtral 3 was launched, a family of speech models and tools for voice agents. Mistral combines transcription, speech synthesis, and the use of external tools; it offers a European API as well as the option for self-hosting. 21
Practical example: A customer calls a service center; the agent identifies the nature of the request, checks for available dates, and prepares a reservation according to approved rules. The quality of such a solution is determined by the entire conversation, including correcting a misheard number, clarifying an unclear request, and transferring the call to a human agent.
For a Slovak company, therefore, a test using real names, accents, and typical customer issues is more useful than an impressive voice demo. In-house operation also means greater control and greater operational responsibility.
Transferable Workflows Are Adopting a Common Standard
One of the most practical news stories in October concerned Agent Skills.
On October 22, Anthropic announced the transfer of this open standard to the Agentic AI Foundation under the Linux Foundation. According to the company, more than 70 agent platforms have already integrated it. 22
Think of a skill as a work instruction: a procedure, the necessary materials, and, if applicable, supporting scripts. It can describe, for example, checking a document according to company rules or preparing a report in an agreed-upon structure.
For a business, the ability to store procedures in a portable format is essential. This can reduce dependence on the knowledge of a single employee and make it easier to switch tools. This is a potential benefit of standardization; however, the available connectors, permissions, and behavior of individual platforms must always be verified.
A good workflow guide can remain useful to a company even after switching models. That is precisely why it is worth devoting the same attention to it as to choosing a subscription.
AI Is Creating Interactive Worlds and Scientific Experiments
Google DeepMind unveiled Genie 4 on October 27. The model creates interactive simulated environments, including sound and dialogue. Users can modify the scene as it unfolds. It has begun to be made available as a research demo to trusted testers. 23
Such technology opens the door to new forms of creation, agent training, and education. However, a photorealistic scene alone does not guarantee the physical accuracy of the simulation. In teaching or technical training, the behavior of the environment must also be verified, not just its appearance.
Another line of development is heading into laboratories. On October 27, Anthropic described its collaboration with six organizations on drug development. Claude is assisting with various stages of research; the company has also published preliminary laboratory results. These results do not yet demonstrate the efficacy of the new treatment in patients. 24
On October 30, OpenAI began limited access to GPT-6 Rosalind Research for approved research customers for multi-stage tasks in the life sciences. Access requires special approval, and the model is not available in the standard Chat tab. 12
A common trend is the integration of AI into scientists’ workflows. The actual impact will be evaluated based on reproducible results and subsequent verification.
Security is shifting from guidelines to technical boundaries
The more steps an agent performs, the more important it is to precisely define its authority.
On October 7, Microsoft announced the general availability of Microsoft Execution Containers. The solution allows for enforcing restrictions on access to files or network targets outside the agent itself. This means the rules should not be altered by the program they are intended to restrict. 25
On October 29, OpenAI described expanded monitoring of model behavior following the Hugging Face incident. In a retrospective review of incident logs, the new system flagged the issue approximately half an hour after the model left the isolated environment. This was a retrospective review of logs demonstrating the potential benefits of monitoring; it does not guarantee that every future incident will be detected. 26
In a corporate deployment, this leads to specific decisions: what data an agent can see, where it is allowed to write, who approves sensitive actions, and how its activity can be stopped.
For example, an agent preparing a payment proposal may not have permission to send the payment. An agent maintaining a website may not be able to change production settings. This separation of powers allows useful capabilities to be tested within a scope whose consequences the company can manage.
Access rights determine how big a mistake the system can make.
The Global Race Is Hampered by Chip and Capital Costs
October also highlighted the physical and financial aspects of AI.
On October 20, Reuters reported, citing informed anonymous sources, that ByteDance, Alibaba, and Tencent had ordered NVIDIA RTX PRO 5500 graphics cards with a total list price of over $35 billion. The report also described supply uncertainties. Therefore, orders should not be confused with delivered hardware or revenue already reported. 27
Anthropic filed an S-1 registration statement on October 26 for its planned initial public offering (IPO). The announcement did not yet specify the number of shares to be offered or the price range. This was a step toward an IPO, not a completed listing. 28
Reuters reported on October 30 at 3:11 p.m. UTC that the Nasdaq 100 had fallen by more than 5.8% since the beginning of the month and was heading toward a loss of over $2 trillion in market value. The report linked investor nervousness to rising AI spending and questions about returns. This was an interim status, not the final result after the market closed. 29
Our interpretation: lower costs for using individual models can coexist with rising costs across the entire industry. For the customer, it therefore makes sense to measure the benefits of a specific process and to retain the option-both contractually and technically-to switch suppliers.
What You Can Try Over the Next Week
Choose one repetitive task for which you know the correct outcome. A small test set of cases will suffice to start with; before broader deployment, expand it to include exceptions and more complex situations.
The following examples are pilot proposals, not reported results from specific customers.
| Area | First Task for AI | What to Evaluate |
|---|---|---|
| Sales | Prepare a quote based on the request and the approved price list | Accuracy of items and time taken for verification |
| Administration | Extract data from documents into a checklist | Incorrect or missing fields |
| Customer Support | Find an answer in approved documentation and prepare a draft response | Accuracy of the source and need for escalation |
| Business Management | Draft a regular report | Traceability of each figure |
| Education | Prepare an interactive explanation of a single concept | Whether the person can subsequently explain it on their own |
For the first few days, let the AI prepare drafts. The person in charge will compare them with the expected result. Record the time spent on preparation, review, corrections, and costs. Only then decide which steps can be automated.
Illustrative calculation: with 100 tasks per week and a reduction in human work from 12 to 5 minutes (including review), the savings amount to 700 minutes, or 11 hours and 40 minutes. From this, you still need to subtract the time required for setup, maintenance, and resolving exceptional errors. This calculation demonstrates a method of measurement, not a guarantee of results.
Three Crucial Questions About Using AI
1. Which model is best for me?
The one that can handle your typical tasks with acceptable quality, cost, and level of control. Prepare the same inputs for the available tools and compare the results based on predefined criteria. Include a typical case, an incomplete task, and a situation in which the system should acknowledge uncertainty. Evaluate the entire process all the way through to a usable output.
2. Does this mean that AI will replace my profession?
The October announcements alone do not allow for such a conclusion. They demonstrate the growing possibilities for automating individual tasks. In your own work, therefore, divide tasks into those that can be verified by clear rules and those that require context, judgment, or responsibility toward another person. This distinction will help you identify where to use AI while also clarifying what you remain responsible for.
3. Is it worth waiting for the next generation?
With a well-defined and reversible pilot project, you can start gaining experience using the tools already available. Invest primarily in well-organized documentation, quality criteria, and metrics. You’ll be able to use these with the next model as well. For sensitive or irreversible steps, first clarify authority, verification, and accountability; a new model name won’t make these decisions for you.
The next step starts with a single task
The October updates expand the scope of work we can delegate. Their value will be evident in concrete results: a properly processed request, a clearer explanation, or a report you can trust.
Choose one task that takes up your time every week. Write down what a good result looks like, and see if AI can help you achieve it with less effort.
